Fiesta® Carafe
Carafe – no longer in production for general retailers.
Holds 60 oz. – Measures 7-3/4″ height x 6-7/8″ diameter.

Produced in all colors EXCEPT Lilac, Chocolate, Slate & the colors produced after Slate (except as noted below).  (See Color Time Line for additional colors.)
NOTES:

  • The post 86 designed carafe did not come with the stopper like the vintage Fiesta® carafe did.  Nor does it have the pedestal foot. Click here to see the difference between vintage & post 86 carafes.
  • HLC discontinued distributing this item to their general retailers 12/31/2011. However, they are still available for purchase through HLC’s retail stores.
  • Lilac carafes are known to exist. It is believe that about 24 were actually produced.
  • Chocolate carafes are known to exist.
  • Poppy carafes were sold at HLC’s factory retail outlet stores in very limited quantities.
  • Sage – 12 for the 2016 ELHSAA auction.  The alumni pieces are marked with a special back stamp.
  • There were 7 carafes glazed in the Crystalline glaze for the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association (ELHSAA) auction in June 2001.  There were 5 in the Blue & 2 in the Brown Crystalline glaze.  Click here to see a photo of one of the two brown crystalline carafes.

NOTES:

  • When the Fiesta® coffee server was in the planning stages, HLC thought about designing it after the Itronstone coffee server.  You can view the 1986 brochure at  Laurel Hollow Parks website.  Click here to see a photo of the early version in Apricot along side the redesigned version in the Apricot glaze.
  • Juniper coffee servers were sold exclusively through HP Johnson Co. to independent retailers for resell.
  • Sapphire is known to exist.
  • The following colors were produced in the quantity noted for the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association (ELHSAA)  auction. This auction is held every June, in downtown East Liverpool, Ohio.
  • Chartreuse – 24 for the 1998 auction.  However, some unnumbered were sold via HLC’s outlet store.

  • Shamrock – 24 for the 2003 ELHSAA auction. However, unnumbered are known to exist.
  • Scarlet – 24 for the 2007 ELHSAA auction. However, unnumbered are known to exist.
  • Chocolate – 12 for the 2009 ELHSAA auction.
  • Marigold – 12 for the 2011 ELHSAA auction. However, unnumbered are rumored to exist.
  • Flamingo – 12 for the 2013 ELHSAA auction.

NOTES:

  • Click here to see how to tell the difference between a vintage & post 86 pitcher.  Notice the handle.
  • The original production number for the large disk pitcher was 0746.  It was later changed to 0484.  Click here to see an example of an original production sticker.
  • When Chartreuse was introduced, HLC added the “H” to the mold so that the Post 86 pitcher would not get confused with vintage colors. You will notice that some “H” marks have a vertical line on either side of the “H”.  This represents that the pitcher was made at the Hall China plant, which HLC purchased in 2010. NOTES:

  • Juniper small pitchers were sold exclusively through Shadle Enterprises to independent retailers for resell.
  • Sapphire small / juice pitchers are known to exist.  Candy Fagerlin showcases some of these NOP items on her blog, “The Little Round Table”.  Click here to view.
  • Even though HLC discontinued this item, they sold limited quantities of this piece in the following colors, Lapis, Poppy, Slate, Sage & Claret through HLC’s factory retail stores & website.
  • The original production number for the small disk pitcher was 747.  It was later changed to 485.  Click here to see an example of an original production sticker.
  • Mistakes happen, even at HLC.  For example, there were some two tone juice pitchers produced. The pitchers ended up being Periwinkle on the outside & Turquoise on the inside.  Click here to see a photo. (Pitcher courtesy of Tina Gump.)

  •  Juniper 2 cup teapots were sold exclusively through the chain of Saks stores.
  • Effective 1/1/2008 – HLC discontinued the 2-cup teapot in these selected colors, Black, Cinnabar, Turquoise & Plum.
  • Marigold – 2011 – 1 of 2 produced sold at the HLCCA conference auction.  Sub-note – Marigold 2-cup teapot bodies were sold at the HLC tent sale.
  • Flamingo – 2012 – 1 of 2 produced sold at the HLCCA conference auction.
  • Lapis – 2013 – 1 of 2 produced sold at the HLCCA conference auction.
  • Poppy – 2014 – 1 of 2 sold at the HLCCA conference auction.  However, it was announced at the HLCCA 2014 conference that HLC is considering bringing the 2 cup teapot back into production.
  • Claret – 2016 – 1 sold at the HLCCA conference auction.

NOTES:

  • HLC had problems with the lids warping with the original design of the teapot. Sometime between 1989 to 1993 HLC redesigned the teapot. Click here to see a comparison photo.  The old version is on the left. You can even notice the warping of the lid.

  • HLC announced in November, 2013 that this item would not be available in White, Black or Plum.

 

All measurements in size & volume are approximate.  This is pottery & each piece fires a little different than the next piece.
